Story Of Sai Baba’s Samadhi

Just before 12-15 days before Lord Sai Baba’s Samadhi Purandare and Kakasaheb were at Shirdi. Lord Baba literally forced them to go back to Mumbai. Initially they were hesitant to return as they had arrived few back. Lord Baba said to them, “Now My Samadhi will speak to you. They had no idea what Lord Baba was pointing them to because it was usual with Him to speak in some unusual code language, which no one used to understand. After reaching Mumbai in a span of couple of days, when Kakasahebreceived news of Lord Sai Baba not keeping well, he rushed to Shirdi before three days of Lord Sai Baba’s Maha Samadhi i.e. on October 12, 1918. That was truely Lord Baba’s indication to call him in that rush hour as He knew that Kakasaheb would be the person responsible for making Baba’s Samadhi at Butiwada. It is very well known that there were a lot of discussions about where to keep Baba. Some said in Dwarkamai, some suggested outside anywhere but not in Dwarkamai and the debate went on. Ramchandraji Patil did not agree with anyone. He insisted that it was Lord Baba’s wish to keep Him in Buti Wada. Many people opposed him but he was firm and left alone. Amir Shakkar and few others called Mamalatdar from Kopargaon. That time few insisted to take Lord Baba out from Masjid (Dwarkamai) as it was not advisable to keep Him there as per Muslim tradition. Mamlatdar requested to find an appropriate solution themselves or seek permission from Tahasildar (District Magistrate) at AhmedNagar. Amir Shakkar was to go to Tahasildar. Even Kakasaheb showed his willingness to go and again insisted firmly that he will act as per Lord Baba’s wish, come what may. Now no one could oppose him and Muslims agreed on the condition that they should be allowed to enter in Butiwada for Darshan. Thus Kakasaheb played major role after Lord’s Mahasamadhi and that’s why we can see a huge Samadhi Mandir now. Sai Baba took Samadhi on Vijayadashami (Dussehra day). But as per Marathi Calendar, Dashmi was over and Ekadashi had started. So first Punyatithi of Lord Baba was celebrated by Shirdi Sansthan on Vijayadashami, but Kakasaheb ji did it on Ekadashi. Butti and Chandorkar went to Parle to meet Kakasaheb. There was total confusion. But Kakasaheb ji was firm on Ekadashi. Still they all decided to ask Baba by putting chits in front of Baba’s Photo. Lord Baba indicated to celebrate it on Vijayadashami. So from next year, Kakasaheb observed Punyatithi on Vijayadashami. © Shirdi Sai Baba Life Teachings and Stories – Member of SaiYugNetwork.com You might like Please leave this field emptySign up to receive awesome content in your inbox We don’t spam!
