An article named Nine Thursdays Sai Baba Vrat – FAQ’s has been very popular since devotees doing this vrat ask their doubts & I, to the best of my knowledge & experience give answers. The reason that i have personally answered and is still answering queries is that this vrat has been beneficial to me and my family. Recently i had such an experience, which i am sharing in this post and whose roots were planted before three years!!! This leela of Baba is very amazing and how He showers this grace at right time is learnt from it.
In the year 2007, almost three years back, when I was away from blogging, I was working in an export firm. That was the time when i was acquainted to Sai Baba just about a year ago!!! I was tied in new relation with Baba and was climbing preliminary steps of devotion. That phase i consider as my childhood wherein i was learning and facing new things in devotion.
As a general rule, i was also enthusiastic to take my career in an existing direction and shape my future. Like today at that time also, I was dependent on Baba for this. But He had totally different plans for me, only He was waiting for right time, I presume. He, as per my thinking is interested that i be busy doing His seva, even I do and wish the same for whole of my life. But that was the time when i had no idea about His plan, rather i was walking on His predetermined path.
In April 2007, i had given written examination of UTI Bank Ltd (presently known as Axis Bank Ltd). Being fully dependent on Baba for success, i remembered and prayed Him mentally to help me and be with me. To my surprise, the answer sheet’s serial number totaled to figure 9, question paper’s serial number also totaled to 9 and exam record number too had a total of 9. Thus it was an indication to me that Baba had accepted my prayers and would certainly help me. With abundant grace of Baba i did pass examination and was called for a personal interview at Ahmedabad.
I attended interview confidently but was not appointed. Moreover, the moment i closed door of cabin where i was interviewed, i was totally blank!!! I could not give any answer to my father nor my friends as to what questions were put forward to me during interview except that interviewers asked me about myself and family background. Such questions are of general nature in an interview, so apart from these, few more questions were asked but i couldn’t recall even a single one 🙁 Then after, i came back to Baroda, got busy in my routine forgetting interview and loosing all hope to be appointed in that prestigious bank.
Now, after marriage, i noticed my hubby’s life very unstable because of his job. He had a lot of traveling and so both of us were striving in an unsteady atmosphere. Though he got promoted in the same Pharma field from where he had started his career, instead of getting steady life, traveling increased at greater extent. I was happy with this progress, but behind all my mind was restless with the truth that he would have to travel a lot more than earlier. Meanwhile, through an employee of Axis Bank Ltd and a common friend, we got to know that there was a vacancy in the same and bank had demanded CV’s of experienced candidates without any public announcement. The opportunity was not small and thus my hubby forwarded CV’s of both of us the same day. With Baba’s grace he was called for written examination. Just before two days of examination, he bought bank examination book, but he could study very little from it due to time constrains. The day of examination came and he was then anxiously waiting for the result because he had done well and was confident to pass in it.
My mother’s health was not good and so i had been at my mother’s place. I was sitting near shrine of my home and suddenly being inspired by Baba i said, “O Baba, i will start Nine Thursday’s Vrat, but please make our life steady by giving job to my hubby in Axis Bank”. I started the vrat from next Thursday (September 16, 2010) itself. Due to health problems, this time i begged pardon from Baba and decided to have one time meal in afternoon and not in evening. On the first day, after lunch i was having noon nap for sometime. My hubby was at home and his mobile rang. It was call from Axis Bank for personal interview the coming Monday (September 20, 2010) !!! Though i had started vrat, i had taken lunch and then was to observe fast. But before that, Baba showered His grace.
Now to attend the interview was more challenging than written examination. My hubby needed to prepare himself from all sides because this interview was first of its kind to him. Even in our friend circle, there was no one who could help us to give some hints as to what kind of questions are asked in bank interview. Earlier i had faced such an interview but i was blank about the questions as mentioned earlier. So there was no hope from my side. Then, another Leela followed. On Sunday when my hubby was searching history and constitution of Axis bank on net, few questions came in my mind (actually, i recalled those few questions at that time) and asked him to search answers from net. Along with his own efforts of searching probable questions, he got few more questions which i was asked, thus preparing him for the interview in the best possible manner.
With all required documents ready with him, he confidently attended interview. He answered almost all questions and only his interview lasted long. He gave me this news of his good performance in interview to me and returned with positive hopes in his mind.
On October 2, 2010, we returned from Sai Naam-smaran program at night and saw a letter from Axis Bank. It was actually appointment letter from the said bank and he had been appointed as “Assistant Manager” the post we never thought of. Really Baba acted in the same manner as i wished. Before all Nine Thursdays were finished, Baba fulfilled my wish. Though my hubby got transferred in other city and we both have to live alone facing few more hardships than earlier, i am hopeful that Baba has planned something very good for us after this time period of separation. I am just waiting for that time with full faith and patience, Baba!!! Thank you so much for everything and always have Your Loving glances on all.

Baba, Why can't u shower blessing on us? Please guide us and help us
Great Leela by Baba, Heetal. Shall I tell you one thing? Baba doesn't care whether you fast or not while doing the 9 thursday vrat because he himself never allowed anyone to fast and if you feel hungry before doing the vrat, you cannot do the vrat with unwavering mind. I performed 9 thursday vrat too, but I ate my breakfast, lunch, dinner,had eaten non veg too, and yet Baba cured my son's myopia. This is not to say that you shouldn't observe fast, but to say that fasting is not necessary.And know what, I actually performed 11 or 12 weeks instead of 9 weeks, did not do the final udyapan which is long pending, half of the times did not hear aarthi. I'll have to hear aarthi and do udyapan which I'm planning to finish by end of december if Baba willing. Baba is great, kind, never punishes anyone or will put anyone to test. I really don't like if someone says Baba is punishing you or testing you. He is our mother. Will any mother punish her children or test her children? He always does what is best for us which might look as if we are being punished or being tested but thats not the case. Baba will never leave anyone in the middle if you have full faith in him just like the faith you have on your parents and he will not punish for the minor mistakes which would not harm anyone except that you did not fulfill the promise you made to him, but he is always forgiving. Baba is the creator of the universe.
I am currently doing the Sai 9 days vrat.Its such a amazing feeling to know that Baba is there for us and guiding through the correct path.Baba keeps showering lots of love and affection on me.I am blessed that in this birth Baba considered me and gave me an oppurtunity to serve him in whatever best way he has decided.I feel like fasting on all thrusdays if possible.By doing this i feel Baba around me,guiding me,showering love on me and blessing me.I usually visit gowrivakkam temple in tamabaram velachery road.Its a bliss to be in teh temple.I feel as if i am in other world when i am in the temple.Devotees can sit the entire day and keep admiring Baba.Baba should keep showering his Kripa on me.Thanks a lot Baba.

I totally agree with your view points. Lord Baba as our loving mother always takes care of us and gives us what we want. As worldly mother does not require her child to fast if he/she is in need of anything, the same follows for Lord Sai Maa too. But sometimes a mother also does not know whether her child is hungry or in want of something unless the child comes and say to her. This is true for kids of Sai Baba too!!! This truth i learnt from my recent experience above.

today is ramnavmi. the miracle baba showered cannot be expressed with words. i m blesse and in a bliss as i received call frm chhota shirdi dham to watch the video of baba aarti , which te person had emailed me. i was remembering baba and it happened. the aarti performed by the baba of the dham was swaroop of saibaba as he was turning the aarti upside down, it was such a wonderful darshan. baba is alive and with us always.we are blessed to have baba in our life.thankyou baba.
